This includes our own motivations to become educators, to develop our professional skills, and to remain in a challenging and often unrewarding profession. However, educators must also be manipulators of our students’ motivations by creatively offering extrinsic motivation while jumping at the opportunities to stoke the fire of intrinsic motivation.
